OUR STORY
After Shashi’s tenure as a Montessori teacher, she and her husband Vern had a bigger dream of opening a school which was state of the art in early childhood education, offered high quality education in an environment that was inclusive, and promoted the Montessori philosophy. In 1991 Springfield Montessori School opened its doors with one enrolled student. Fast forward 34 years and Springfield has two campuses with over 400 students, and is consistently recognized as the San Francisco East Bay Area’s most esteemed Montessori school.
After the success of Springfield, Shashi and Vern had an even bigger dream to expand their passion for education on a global scale. They formed Children’s Global Education Fund, a 501(c)(3) non profit with a mission to fund education related and other projects and initiatives around the world.
